PREM Group Annual Charity Event 2024

PREM Group holds our nominated charity, Beyond the Moon, very close to our hearts. Each year, we organise a Charity Golf Day to raise funds for this worthy charity. This year, our goal was to exert maximum fundraising efforts with the launch of our inaugural Annual Charity Event.

Taking place over two weeks, PREM Group properties and companies across Ireland, the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands held a variety of fundraising activities to raise money locally, including cycleathons, charity walks and hikes, bake sales, collection buckets, carwashes, raffles, a quiz night, jersey days, walk-to-work days, sponsored cycle races, and guess the baby competition.

Our charity committee helped to arrange numerous activities from across all regions, including:

At the end of the two weeks, Pascale Somers – Manager of Beyond the Moon – along with our CEO Jim, hosted an online video call with all teams from across PREM Group hotels and companies. The purpose was to showcase the impactful work of Beyond the Moon and explain how the funds raised by PREM Group will support families with a sick child.

During the call, we were delighted to announce that our first joint and large-scale Charity Event together with the Charity Golf Day, raised €39,000! Combined with all funds raised by PREM Group, since the start of our collaboration with Beyond the Moon in 2006, our total fundraising efforts now amount to €311,557 – enough to send 73 families on the holiday of a lifetime. Saying we are thrilled and absolutely over the moon with the funds raised for our preferred charity Beyond the Moon would be an understatement.

“We are incredibly grateful that PREM Group’s CEO, Jim, is so deeply involved together with his team. He sets an example for many other companies. Jim personally calls the families to share the joyous news that they are going on a Beyond the Moon vacation. Since January 2024, he has made at least six phone calls to parents, letting them know that a carefree family vacation has been arranged. With this year’s funds, many more families will benefit the coming months,” says Pascale Somers, Manager Beyond the Moon.

More about Beyond the Moon

Since 2005, Beyond the Moon has offered families with a seriously ill child the opportunity to enjoy a memorable, cost-free vacation in a child-friendly environment and to spend carefree quality time together, far away from hospitals and treatments.

The charity works very closely with children's hospitals, doctors, and healthcare professionals in many countries, including Ireland, the UK, and Continental Europe to identify families that are eligible for a Beyond the Moon vacation.

PREM Group team members are encouraged to nominate families who meet Beyond the Moon's selection criteria. This enhances their involvement and makes it even more tangible and transparent. Funds raised from each country benefit families from that respective country.

The average cost to send a family on a cost-free vacation is €4,500. For many families, this once-in-a-lifetime break creates unforgettable memories for the sick child, the parents and siblings. This is not a luxury, but rather a valuable investment in the wellbeing and resilience of the whole family. The stress and strain of caring for a sick child can be overwhelming.
