Group Financial Controller - PREM Group Head Office

PREM Group, a leading hotel management and services company operating in Ireland, the UK, Belgium, France and Poland, is currently seeking a financial controller to head up the accounting function for Ireland.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accounting professional with experience in an FC position at a senior level in the hotel industry, preferably in a Group or clustered role. He or she will be able to demonstrate an indepth understanding of hotel operations in addition to strong financial aptitude. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with a good eye for detail. He or she will have his or her own car, a clean drivers liscence and will be available to travel throughout Ireland as required. He or she may also be required to travel to other regions within Europe on occasion.

The Role

Based in Dublin and reporting to the Group Financial Controller the person in this position will manage and co-ordinate the entire accounting function of the group of companies within the PREM Group's Ireland region. The Group Financial Controller for Ireland will work closely with the Group Operations Manager for PREM Group Ireland.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as financial manager for the Irish hotel portfolio
  • Acting as team leader in deploying financial solutions for PREM Group Ireland. Managing the accountancy team for Ireland.
  • Ensuring that adequate procedures and systems are in place to maintain proper books and records assuring adequate internal accounting controls.
  • Preparing detailed monthly management accounts for the hotels/companies under their remit. These will comprise P&L accounts and balance sheet accompanied with the requisite comparators and explanations for material variances.
  • Co-ordinating the establishment of annual budgets.
  • Managing cash flow requirements
  • Ensuring sales and purchase ledgers are properly maintained, reconciled and facilitate cash flow in line with banking arrangements and credit periods.
  • Ensuring the timely preparation and submission of all necessary tax returns.
  • Ensuring company secretarial matters are up to date.
  • Managing capital expenditure.
  • Costing of ad hoc projects.
  • Liasing with insurance companies, auditors and tax consultants.
  • Assisting in developing strategic plans for the future of the organisation.
